Many people work out without knowing what they want to accomplish. They go to the gym and work out, but really don’t know what they are working on, what aspects of fitness they want to improve or how to go about it properly.

They have no long-term plan and really no direction. They just blindly walk into the gym and work out.

This is going to change. Today is a new day. (Learn more here.)

During my next few blogposts, I am going to go over:

  • The 5 Components of Physical Fitness,
  • Why they are important, and
  • How to implement them into your workout.

You can look at this series as a roadmap for the future of your workouts, with a goal to improve in the 5 Components of Physical Fitness…which will enable you to lead a longer, healthier, more active-and-balanced lifestyle.

These aspects of physical fitness are used to gauge how good a shape we’re truly in. The 5 components that make up total fitness are:

• Cardiovascular Endurance
• Muscular Strength
• Muscular Endurance
• Flexibility, Mobility, Balance
• Body Composition

Total fitness can be defined by how well the body performs in each one of the components of physical fitness as a whole. A well-balanced workout program will enable you to be proficient in all aspects of physical fitness.

LEARN ABOUT THE 21-DAY PROGRAM

Lacking training in just one or two of these disciplines will lead to an imbalance in your fitness level, and could cause injury or a decrease in health parameters.

Let’s face it…most of us work out to feel better, have more energy, be healthier, be more active as we get older, and live longer…not to be Olympic Champions.

It’s great if you can bench press a ton of weight, but what good is it if you cannot walk up a flight of stairs without getting out of breath or without pain?

You might be lean and in good shape, but if you lack balance, what happens if you are older and lose your balance and fall?

You need to be proficient in all areas of fitness.

To start getting there now — so you feel more health benefits SOONER rather than later — sign up for the NEW 21-Day Personal Training Program today.

How Do I Balance My Workouts?

First, take a look at your current workout regime and determine which of the 5 components of physical fitness you are lacking.

Then, put together a plan to balance your workout program by adding in the other components, while cutting back a little on those you’re currently over-training in.

Not Sure What to do? We can Help!

We are starting our NEW 21-Day Personal Training Program in Monmouth County, NJ. The Program, which takes place at our studios in Ocean Township and Little Silver, teaches you all about each of the 5 components of physical fitness.

You will work with an educated, experienced personal trainer who will take you through a workout in each of the 5 components to make sure you thoroughly understand each one.

At the end of just 21 days, you’ll have a complete understanding of each component — and a balanced workout will be written for you to use on your own once the program is complete.
