Many people work out without knowing what they want to accomplish. They go to the gym and work out, but really don’t know what they are working on, what aspects of fitness they want to improve or how to go about it properly.
They have no long-term plan and really no direction. They just blindly walk into the gym and work out.

You can look at this series as a roadmap for the future of your workouts, with a goal to improve in the 5 Components of Physical Fitness…which will enable you to lead a longer, healthier, more active-and-balanced lifestyle.
These aspects of physical fitness are used to gauge how good a shape we’re truly in. The 5 components that make up total fitness are:
• Cardiovascular Endurance
• Muscular Strength
• Muscular Endurance
• Flexibility, Mobility, Balance
• Body Composition
Total fitness can be defined by how well the body performs in each one of the components of physical fitness as a whole. A well-balanced workout program will enable you to be proficient in all aspects of physical fitness.

How Do I Balance My Workouts?
First, take a look at your current workout regime and determine which of the 5 components of physical fitness you are lacking.
Then, put together a plan to balance your workout program by adding in the other components, while cutting back a little on those you’re currently over-training in.
